Comments on posts

Been wondering for . . . a year? more? why comments went away on, here. Figured it was a theme or WordPress update, then didn’t have time to think about it anymore. But, now that I just updated the site, I was clicking around, actually trying to figure it out, and: comments have been default-turned off for ALL posts for, man, for a while. No clue why, or how. I assume it’s my fault in some way. So, when/if I have time, I’ll go back and undo all that. But, moving forward, I’ll at least try to remember to UNcheck that. Sorry, all. Who knows what happened.

Did just have to tab over to the nav-pane here, and select “Open.” So, one more click on every post, looks like. Fingers crossed I keep remembering . . .

Also, just finding that, with this new theme, there’s more click-hoops I have to jump through . . .

Clock’s ticking now on how long I keep it, I guess. I do like that’s it’s actually responsive, though, and that it submits to edits fairly easily.

all right, turns out opening comments on all the posts from the last year is a LOT of clicking. probably not doing it. did about thirty just now, and it didn't seem like the best possible use of my time. so, will scroll through, kind of arbitrarily open this or that one. but? hopefully I keep them ALL open, from here on out.

  2. Ouch. I hope all that clicking doesn't cause you to develop arthritis. I do appreciate all that effort, if only so I can get back to pestering you every now & then (snicker).

Told ya I'd be haunting you soon, lol.

thanks to some VERY expert help, that sidebar now has dropdown AND the header-image is now a link to home. so, things are working well for the moment. now I just need to get around to putting in all the links(reviews, lists, etc) on all the book pages, which is an afternoon's work, about. hopefully soon.

all right, mostly updated stuff. for reasons I can't grok, a couple posts/updates I have cued refuse to write to the database. oh well. but: mostly caught up, here. even got the Events in the sidebar going again. it won't format like the rest of the widgets, but I probably shouldn't complain.
