Before streaming, you couldn’t ever do this, could you?
I do hit it a lot now, though. I guess because . . . I’ve seen it? I’ve seen it, it’s burned into my eyes, my heart, and I just want to get to the show now, please. However, there are some I still watch the whole way through, can never get enough of. Not sure if opening credits/themes come in waves, have fads—no, they do: after Game of Thrones, so many were like that, weren’t they?—but I’m sure there’s all kinds of concerns and pressures and expediences &etc I have zero clue about.
All of which is to say: here’s those ones I never skip. These are all shows I still watch, too. Well, re-watch; a lot of them are old, yes. Don’t mean to disparage the current batch of what’s happening. But, whatever phase of opening credits TV’s in now, maybe they’re anticipating that “Skip Intro” button? I like it when they were a whole production, though. I’ll stack them up here, with my very favorite first:

love the way Raylan’s never quite “seen.” it’s more the culture, the place
those old-timey bar painting/drawings contrasted with the cheeriness of the song? perfect
don’t even think opening credits/theme can get any better than this
the way the “turns” in this are coordinated with the escalations and dig-downs in the song is masterful. makes my heart bigger
