Killer/Babysitter Tour Digest

Right at the end of the first draft of a novel, so don’t have proper time/headspace to annotate all these, or find the rest of them (and, I only know BlueSky . . .). In short: couldn’t have been better. Travel all went smooth as could be, the crowds were great, the signing lines trailed into the horizon, many pens went dry, and, for the first time, got to wind the tour up on the reservation, on the shore of Lower Two Medicine, with friends. Thanks, all, for being there. Honored to be read by you—honor to meet you in an auditorium, a bookstore, a museum, across a table. Or, in some cases, on the street, randomly, which we’ll call fate, yes?

And, just realizing I didn’t run down any pics from the Florida event. Weird. Anyway, too late now. But, I did snap a few pics myself—me casing the venue the morning-of; what I was reading at Chipotle; a couple of trees I thought might be aliens; and some books I was signing:

Got to have dinner with an old friend, too, but forgot to ask him if I could post pics of us. So, just imagine me, very happy with someone I can talk horror and books and movies and life with for hours and hours.

Oh, too: first Blackfeet through the line said she never runs into other Blackfeet in Seattle. And, then? Two MORE Blackfeet came through the line. But it was too late to get them all knowing each other . . .

Which, amazingly, was on the Blackfeet Reservation! Such a cool time. And, so few pics—there was no service, we were so far out there. Here’s the main stage (that’s Blood Incantation):

Anyway, again: could not have been a better time. Exhausted now, but can’t even unpack—off to Texas soon, then Canada, then all the fall events get going, and they’re legion, as they always are. Hope to see some of y’all out there, either again or for the first time. Until then: keep your books open, your eyeglasses clean, and your hearts ready.
